The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program provides full funding for up to three years of graduate study at Stanford University and participation in leadership and professional development through the King Global Leadership Program. The program admits students from anywhere in the world who have been admitted to a graduate program at Stanford, either previous to or concurrent with the Knight-Hennessy application, and who demonstrate independence of thought, purposeful leadership, and a civic mindset.

This scholarship does not require UMN involvement in the application process. However, the Office for National and International Scholarships will provide guidance on applications. Applications are due in early October and selected applicants will be invited to submit a supplementary video statement. Finalists will be contacted in January and will participate in a virtual interview in mid-February. Selected finalists will then be invited to an immersion weekend at Stanford at the end of February with expenses paid.
